Heroes

Everyone needs a hero. Everyone has the ability to be a hero. Some lack the courage to face the dragon they put their sword down and end up being peasants. But there are the ones who take the sword face the dragons- and end up being the Hero.

We read fairy tales and stories to escape our world and to dive into a world totally different than ours. We put ourselves in certain characters shoes, wishing we could be them. Slaying monsters, saving a loved ones life, being remembered and never forgotten. Yet while reading these epic tales, we forget about our daily lives where we have the chance to be heroes.

hero (1) Look up hero at Dictionary.comlate 14c., “man of superhuman strength or physical courage,” from L. heros “hero,” from Gk. heros “demi-god” (a variant singular of which was heroe), originally “defender, protector,” from PIE root *ser- “to watch over, protect”

Hero= To watch over, protect. What do we watch over? Who do we fight for? The people we love the most. Family, close friends.

Our daily monsters can be depression, anger, hurt, pain, negativity, and any obstacle in your way to fight you and to break you  down.

Do you realize you are fighting dragons when you are comforting a friend? When you hug your crying sister and then make funny faces. You just defeated the scary monster that was locking her up in the dungeon.

My friend recently told a waiter off who was being rude to his family. I consider him a hero because he protected his family.

Heroes are in our life every day. Be the Hero- slay the daily dragons and monsters in your life.  🙂
